The reason I write is the same reason I draw: I like to make images. Whether tugging on your heartstrings or tickling your funny bone, I want to ignite a feeling and connect with the reader. That’s you!

Why are you here?

Chances are you found me through a series of cosmic events that pitched you down the information superhighway, landing you here with a thud. Or maybe you just searched freelance writer in google. Either way, I’m glad you’re here. The question is, why are you here?

Builders have their tools and so have writers. We have words and use these with intent and meaning. We use words to amuse, bolster, convince, describe, evoke, facilitate – you get the picture.

Writing is something I do every day. It’s a muscle I’ve developed and continue to develop through blog and newsletter writing, copywriting, short fiction, creative non-fiction and more.

A Little About Mel

Mel grew up in Charlottetown, PEI where she defied death, had bad grades, and developed a love of drawing.

Her creative interests didn’t stop at drawing, but when it was time to find her place in the world, she ventured off to the New Brunswick of College of Craft and Design (NBCCD) and studied photography. After she graduated with honors, she still had an itch left to scratch, so she re-enrolled and studied illustration and design.

By day, Mel works as a graphic designer and marketing coordinator, and outside of business hours, you’ll find her writing, drawing, or honing her pizza-making skills.
